WORKER'S COMPENSATION

If you've suffered an injury at work you are protected by State Worker's Compensation law.  You should immediately file a written report of injury with your employer and seek medical treatment.  Your employer's insurance company is obligated to pay any and all medical bills relating to your at work injury.   In some instances, you may suffer permanent physical disability, in which case you are entitled to a specific monetary award based upon your income around the time of your injury and the percentage of permanent disability.  You are also entitled to a major percentage of your income for the time spent away from work due to your injury.

Your employer has a right to dispute your injury claim, and for significant injuries hearings are often held.  To protect your legal rights and to know your options, it is suggested that you contact an attorney.  My attorney fee in Worker's Compensation is twenty percent of money you receive, and you pay nothing except for that percentage of the money you are awarded.

It is important to note that you may be able to receive damages above and beyond what you receive through your worker's compensation claim, depending on the circumstances of your injury.  The most notable example of this is when you are injured in a motor vehicle accident while working, and the accident was caused by a third party.  Call me now and we will discuss your at work injury immediately.
